Designing for the notes client? The peril of using color gradients in tables.

This is a little one but it is in fact really annoying.
Did you ever try to use color gradients as a background for your notes tables? You know that you can do this don’t you?
OK if you know how to use it and have been coming across the problem which lies in using this you do not have to read further on.

Im Rahmen der Überarbeitung der ECL Listen (Unternehmensweit) haben unsere Domino/Notes Administratoren einige Workstation ECL Policies eingerichtet, die uns in Ihren Auswirkungen auf eine Interessante Spur gebracht haben.

Speziell ging es um die “-NO SIGNATURE-” oder “-Keine Signatur-” Daten die in der ECL (Execution Control List) jedes Notes Clients vorhanden sind.

They fixed it … NotesViewNavigators working again in 8.5

As i wrote in my last entry here in this blog IBM had some issues with NotesViewNavigators and NotesViewEntries under some circumstances. Well they fixed this. Right now, well this is originally from two weeks ago, but we had to test it too and we had other issues that resulted in writing this a little bit later, there is a hotfix, number 85HF586_W3 available from IBM that fixes the problems arising with NotesViewNavigators and NotesViewEntries.

WARNING: NotesViewNavigators and updating to Domino/Notes 8.5. There ARE issues with that.

If you are updating to 8.5 take a close look at all of your applications. Especially when they are using Notes View Navigators and Notes View entries in a rather simple construction to do some work for you.
